Ethiopia Walias: team guide and official match sources

The team and federation
Ethiopia’s national football teams are represented by the Ethiopian Football Federation. CAF’s association record lists its foundation in 1943, FIFA affiliation in 1952 and CAF affiliation in 1957. Those historical dates are useful background; they do not identify today’s squad or coach.

Search for the full team category as well as “Ethiopia”: senior men, senior women and youth teams do not share the same schedule. A club from Ethiopia is also a different team from the national side.

Check the organiser’s competition record when a schedule changes. A general international window is not a confirmed fixture. Keep the opponent, date and source together when sharing a match with friends.
Convert kick-off to Ethiopian time
Ethiopia uses East Africa Time, UTC+3. For a worked example, a match listed at 18:00 UTC starts at 21:00 EAT. A listing at 22:30 UTC becomes 01:30 EAT the next day. These are invented examples, not scheduled Walias matches.
Use an explicit 24-hour time and EAT label when posting the conversion. If a listing says only “local time”, first establish the venue’s time zone; do not assume it means Ethiopia.
Read the result correctly
“HT” means half-time; “FT” normally marks the end of normal time. “AET” identifies a result after extra time, while a penalty-shootout result should be shown separately from the match score. Check the competition’s notation if a card uses another format.
For example, a hypothetical 1–1 after extra time, 4–3 on penalties describes a drawn match followed by a shootout winner. It is not a 5–4 match score. This matters when comparing a football report with a “90-minute result” or “to qualify” market.
